margins in bloom.

part of the What We Leave Behind series

Altered book, embroidery thread, dried flora, coffee, charcoal, gesso, and fabric, 2025

In Margins in Bloom, fragments of a worn Italian novel are transformed into a quiet archive of memory and renewal. Each page bears traces of the natural world—pressed leaves, wildflowers, and thread—stitched into the text and washed with layers of coffee and charcoal. The work blurs the boundaries between language and landscape, suggesting that even in the margins of what’s forgotten, new growth can take hold. Bound in soft brown suede, the book feels both tender and timeworn—an object of reflection, preservation, and return.
